RoHS: Safeguarding our planet, one device at a time.

To be RoHS compliant, a product must not contain any of the six restricted substances

  • Lead (Pb)
  • Cadmium (Cd)
  • Mercury (Hg)
  • Hexavalent chromium (CrVI)
  • Polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs)
  • Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs)

in concentrations greater than the maximum allowable levels. The maximum allowable levels are specified in the RoHS Directive.

RoHS compliance is important because it helps to protect human health and the environment. The six restricted substances are all hazardous to human health and can cause a variety of health problems, including cancer, reproductive problems, and neurological disorders. They are also harmful to the environment and can pollute soil and water.

There are a number of ways to ensure that a product is RoHS compliant. One way is to use components and materials that are known to be RoHS compliant. Another way is to have the product tested by a qualified laboratory.

There are a number of benefits to being RoHS compliant. One benefit is that it allows companies to sell their products in the EU market. Another benefit is that it can help companies to improve their public image and reputation. Additionally, RoHS compliance can help companies to reduce their environmental impact.

All RoHS content is collected and categorized so we can identify compliant and non-compliant parts

  • Consumable Material
  • Component Suppliers
  • Material Declaration Sheet
  • Outsourced Design Services/ODMs
  • External Manufacturing Suppliers
  • WEEE Compliance (Waste of Electronic, Electrical Equipment)
  • Recycle and Recovery

Not all parts will have RoHS-compliant versions

  • EOL – Low demand
  • EOL – Technology driven
  • EOL – Material incompatibility
  • End Of Life Buys may not be a viable option
