Testing the computerized coin changer
This logic board automatic tester was designed to test the computerized coin changer modules used in vending machines to simplify coin management. Our client needed a simple, straightforward, modular design for easy service by field service personnel — and heavy-duty D.C. payout solenoids for fast, exact payout.
The computer-controlled tester uses a unique packaging scheme. The in-circuit test is performed with spring-loaded probes attached to the main PCB.
When the module is loaded onto the tester, the probe pins automatically connect to key test points in the device under test. The tester was so dependable and successful — and so low in cost — that our client gave the units away free to qualified purchasers of their equipment.
