New Phones in Less Than Three Months
MTSI partners with Nortel to deliver hardware on time and under budget
There was once a Nortel senior vice president who had a problem – he needed a new phone and he needed it in three months. He had a hundred programmers, but the hardware developers were too busy to be available for the project for several years.
It took one trip to MTSI and he had an Emmy Award-winning industrial designer and a team of dedicated hardware and firmware professionals working for him. And he needed not one, but two innovative phones for delivery well before his trade show.
That is the type of challenge we love to accept.
These phones used innovative telephone line signaling and one “controller” phone to send distinctive ringing sounds to the other phones over existing house wiring.
It could screen calls and set other phones individually to ring based on simple rules, such as no calls to children after 9:00 P.M.
Multiple prototypes were made and delivered so programmers could develop the code, and functional, modeled phones were delivered on time and under budget.
